Kamieńczyk Waterfall

The highest waterfall on the Polish side of the Giant Mountains (846 metersabove sea level), consisting of three cascades with the total height of 27 meters.Behind the middle cascade, there is a small “Golden Cave”, partially hewn byWalloons.

Szrenica

The second highest peak of the Polish Giant Mountains – 1362 meters above sealevel. On Szrenica, a mountain hostel open all year round is located and fromSzklarska Poręba you can reach the peak suing a ski lift or walking up a gentle,paved road. In the winter, Szrenica is besieged by winter sports lovers - mainlyfans of skiing and snowboarding. SkiArena Szrenica offers as many as 12 km ofski trails.

Szklarka Waterfall

Piechowice

The second highest - after Kamieńczyk - waterfall in the Polish Giant Mountains,located at the altitude of 525 meters above sea level. The picturesque cascade is13.3 meter high and a legend is connected with its creation about Karkonosz anda glass-maker's daughter, Szklarka, whose name has been given to a nearbystream.

Wlastimil Hofman's House

Szklarska Poręba, ul. Matejki 23

The house of the Polish painter - an eminent representative of Symbolism, which has remained intact since his death. The place is filled with the artist's spirit, which visitors can't experience at any other museum. The house's interior includes, among other things, the artist's studio, where his easels and a table with brushes and tubes of pain can still be seen.

House of Gerhart and Carl Hauptmann

Szklarska Poręba, ul. 11 Listopada 23

An old country cottage which used to be both the family house and a place of work for two outstanding writers ̶Gerhart Hauptman, who in 1912 received the Nobel Prize in literature for lifetime achievement, and his brother, Carl. The seat of the Giant Mountains Museum, featuring a permanent exhibition devoted to the town’s bohemia.

Wysoki Kamień

One of the highest peaks of the picturesque Jizera Mountains, which are a fantastic place for hiking, cycling, horseriding and cross-country skiing. From the peak, a panorama of the Giant Mountains, Jizera Mountains, Kaczawskie Mountains and Rudawy Janowickie can be admired.

Jizera Railway

The railway connection between Jelenia Góra and Kořenov, along a panoramic trail reopened in 2010, after over 65 years of being out of use. The mysterious meanders of the tracks, mountain cliffs and nature of the Jizera Mountains make this railway trip a unique attraction.

Chybotek

A rock formation in the Jizera Mountains, consisting of big granite boulders. The top and the biggest boulder, with a diameter of 4 meters, can be easily rocked, which is the source of the formation’s name. One of the Walloon legends has it that an entrance to an underground treasury is hidden under the rocking boulder.

Śnieżne Kotły

Two postglacial kettles which constitute a nature reserve of the Giant Mountains National Park. An excellent example of the Alpine landscape - snow on the bottom of the kettles sometimes lies until mid-summer. Great views from the peak. The most picturesque place in the Sudetes.

Śnieżka

The highest peak of the Giant Mountains - 1603 meters above sea level. On its top, there is a meteo observatory with a restaurant - characteristic “discs”, and the chapel of Saint Lawrence. Śnieżka is an incredibly windy place - the strongest gusts of wind reach 300 km/h. A few trails lead to the peak from Karpacz.

Vang Stave Church

Karpacz, ul. Na Śnieżkę 8

A unique monument of the Scandinavian church architecture. This Evangelical parish church is one of the oldest wooden buildings of this type in Poland. It was constructed of Norwegian pine at the turn of the 12th and 13th century, and moved to Karpacz form the town of Vang in 1842.

Jakuszyce Glade

The most well-known center for cross-country skiing in Poland, where Bieg Piastów - an annual international event - has been organized since 1976.Thanks to the unique microclimate, snow lies there for a long time - on average for 156 days per year. The glade is perfectly managed in terms of bicycle infrastructure, and the fantastically maintained routes allow cyclists to enjoy mountain nature. The total length of the bicycle paths in Szklarska Poręba is impressive 450 km.

Julia Crystal Glass Factory

Piechowice, ul. Żymierskiego 73 

One of the few still operating crystal glass manufacturers in Poland, which keeps the region’s old traditions, and manufactures products shaped and cut by hand. At the facility, visitors can admire the manufacturing process of glass masterpieces, and participate in workshops during which they can find out about secrets of the glass making art.

Novosad & Syn Glass Factory and Brewery

Harrachov, Nový svět 95

A glass museum with unique collection of over five thousand exhibits, constituting the biggest glass collection in the Czech Republic. On the factory's premises, there is a brewery where beer is brewed in front of the visitors’ eyes.

Hruba Skala Rock City

One of the most interesting and beautiful rock cities in the Bohemian Paradise. A fortified castle constructed in the 14th century stands on the majestic sandstone pinnacles.

Path Among Treetops

An educational and scenic route located in the Giant Mountains National Park, with a 45-meter tower, from which tourist can observe the panorama of the mountains. In addition, leisure and fun areas can be found within the path.

Dresden

The capital of Saxony, located a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Szklarska Poreba. The city's top attractions include Zwinger - a late Baroque palace and garden complex built for Polish King Augustus II the Strong, which houses, among other things, an impressive collection of porcelain, and the Old Masters Gallery - one of the biggest collections of the European painting in the world, which includes e.g. works by Canaletto, Raphael Santi, Titian, Poussin, Rubens and Rembrandt. Undoubtedly, the city's major attraction also include the Transparent Factory - a facility owned by Volkswagen AG where visitors can admire the latest technologies from the field of future mobility, and Albertinum - the museum of the State Art Collections, which exhibits sculptures and paintings from Romanticism to the present.
